EFT addresses unresolved emotional issues as a likely cause of stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, physical disease, psychological dysfunction, and personal performance limits. Negative emotional experiences are said to imprint into our Neurological system disrupting the body's energy system. When we are not able to process these emotions, our body gets stuck responding in "fight or flight" mode, and this shows up in the body in anxiety, muscle tension, pain, high cortisol (stress hormone) levels, disease, etc. Tapping on the meridian points on the body while "tuned in" to the stress, the challenge, or whatever is going on in our lives we are trying to overcome sends a calming signal to the amygdala in the brain, rewiring the brain to let go and respond in healthier ways.
